With its warm yet somber time-worn stone walls, the Chapelle des Brigittines (Brussels) is a sober, circumscribed space, uplifting the spirit and radiating strength, severity, security – something that transports us outside time. In contrast, I “traverse” it, using a lightweight “thing” whose windblown form and whose stuff (paper) are an extension of the main theme of my drawings: the insecurity and confusion of man today. For the "event", the "performance", the Chapelle des Brigittines not only provides depth, but it also draws the spatial and mental dimension upwards.
